Material Profile: Worbla's Crystal Art

Updated: Oct 2, 2020

Worbla's Crystal Art is a pellet-based, low temperature thermoplastic. Moldable and self-adhesive when heated, it cools to a flexible, transparent plastic. It is a versatile material for crafting, costumes, and fine arts.

PROS: Great for creating light effects in costumes and crafts. Finished pieces remain flexible and nearly shatterproof making them excellent for props that might be dropped, etc.

CONS: Crystal Art activates at 110C/230F, which is past the boiling point of water. As a result, you need gloves in order to work with Crystal Art safely.
